Budgether Support
The quickest way to tell me about a problem is inside the app: Settings › Report a problem, or just shake your iPhone. It adds your app version and iPhone model for you, and leaves out names, amounts and notes unless you choose to include them.
You can also email me at contact@barnhillsoftware.com. I read every message.
Sharing a budget
How do I share a budget?
Sharing is part of Premium. Open the People tab and tap Invite people. You'll get a six-character code and a QR code to send to whoever you're budgeting with. They join free.
How many people can join?
A shared budget holds up to six people, you included. Premium covers one shared household; your other budgets stay personal.
Can I control what people can change?
Yes. In the People tab, tap someone to give them a role: co-owner, member, helper or view only, or pick exactly what they can do. You can also choose the role new people get when they join.
Someone has a code they shouldn't.
Codes don't expire, so deleting the budget is currently the only way to cancel one: Settings › Budget settings › Delete budget, then start a new one. Removing a person in the People tab doesn't cancel the code.
A budget isn't syncing.
Check that you're online and signed in to iCloud in the iOS Settings app. If you're in someone else's budget and your changes won't save, the owner's iCloud storage may be full.
Premium
What does Premium include?
One shared household for up to six people, as many personal budgets as you like, twelve animated themes and five extra app icons. Everyone you invite joins free.
Getting Premium back on a new phone
Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the Apple Account you bought Premium with. Then open Budgether, go to Settings and tap Restore purchases.
Cancelling a subscription
In the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Budgether. Premium keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for. Lifetime is a one-time purchase, so there's nothing to cancel.
Bills and reminders
Why didn't I get a reminder?
Check Settings › Notifications in Budgether, and that notifications for Budgether are allowed in the iOS Settings app. Bill reminders come a few days before a bill is due (you choose how many) and again on the day.
What's the card on my Lock Screen on a bill's due day?
That's a Live Activity. It shows the bill and has a button to mark it paid. You can turn it off in Settings › Notifications › Bill day on the Lock Screen.
Widgets, Siri and shortcuts
How do I add a widget?
Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Budgether. Each widget can follow the budget that's open in the app or stick to one budget.
What can I ask Siri?
Try "How much is left in Budgether?", "What bills are due in Budgether?" or "Add an expense in Budgether". You'll find all of them in the Shortcuts app, and you can put "Add expense" in Control Center or on the Action button.
Everything else
The app feels busy or I'd like less motion.
Turn on Settings › Simpler animations. The background and theme decorations hold still, and little extras like pulses and confetti are skipped. It's also on whenever Reduce Motion is on in your iPhone's settings.
How do I delete my data?
See Deleting your data in the privacy policy.
