Squeeze Privacy Policy

Effective October 28, 2026

The short version

  • Squeeze works entirely on your iPhone or iPad. I don't run any servers, and your videos are never uploaded.
  • Squeeze doesn't show ads or track you. It has no analytics built in, and the only outside code in it is Apple's.
  • Squeeze only sees the videos and files you choose. It asks for more access to your photo library only when you delete an original.
  • Converted videos keep their date and place unless you turn that off, so check before sharing one publicly.

What Squeeze stores

Everything Squeeze keeps stays on your device, in the app's own storage:

  • a copy of each video you add, so you can compare it or convert it again, until you clear it
  • the videos it converts, which also appear in the Files app in On My iPhone › Squeeze (On My iPad on an iPad)
  • your editor projects: copies of their clips and music, and your edits
  • the list of videos you've converted (names, sizes, dates and settings) and how much space you've saved
  • your settings

Nothing is synced to iCloud or anywhere else by Squeeze. If you back up your device, these files can be part of that backup, which Apple holds under its own privacy policy.

Your photo library and files

When you add videos, you pick them in Apple's own picker, and Squeeze only receives the ones you choose. Videos stored in iCloud are downloaded by iOS so Squeeze can read them.

Saving a converted video to Photos asks for permission to add to your library. Delete Original from Photos asks for full access to your library; Squeeze uses it only to delete the original you chose, and iOS asks you to confirm each time.

Files you open from the Files app or another app are copied into Squeeze. Squeeze never looks at any other file.

Date and location

Videos from a camera usually record when and where they were taken. With Keep Date & Location on (it's on unless you turn it off in Settings), converted videos keep that information, and so does a copy you save to Photos. Anyone you share the video with can see it. Turn the setting off to leave it out of the videos you convert from then on. Videos made in the editor don't include a date or place.

Notifications

Squeeze asks if it may notify you when videos finish converting while you're in another app. The notification is created on your device. You can turn it off in the iOS Settings app.

Purchases

Squeeze Pro is sold through the App Store, and Apple takes care of payment. I never see your card details or your Apple Account. The app only asks the App Store whether you have Pro. Apple's sales reports don't tell me who bought it.

What I don't collect

Nothing you put into Squeeze is stored anywhere I can see, and I don't sell or pass on anything. The app has no ads, analytics, tracking or third-party SDKs, and it doesn't connect to any server of mine.

Like every developer, I get anonymous numbers from Apple, such as download counts, plus crash reports from people who have chosen to share them with app developers in their device's settings.

If you email me, I get your email address and whatever you write, which I use only to reply.

Deleting your data

Swipe a video in the Videos list to remove it, or use Remove Converted to clear the list. Settings › Clear Cached Originals removes the copies of your originals. To delete an editor project, touch and hold it in Edit and tap Delete.

Deleting the app removes everything Squeeze has stored. Videos you saved to Photos, saved to Files or shared stay where you put them.

Children

Squeeze isn't directed at children under 13, and it never asks anyone for their age, email address or phone number.

Changes to this policy

If I change this policy, I'll post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
