Put a pep in your step
PepStep turns your daily steps into a cozy adventure. A character you design walks every step you take along an endless trail, through little towns and alongside your friends, earning coins for outfits, treats and pets. Your steps come straight from Apple Health.
What it does
A world that walks with you
Every step you take is a step your character takes, along a 3D trail through meadows, forests, lakes and mountains, under your own sky and weather.
Steps become coins
Every 1,000 steps earns 100 coins for clothes, hair, moves and more for a character you design yourself, and a mystery box waits every day.
Cozy towns every day
Two or three villages stand along each day's trail. Pop into cafés and bakeries for treats that boost your score, and adopt a pet when a pet shop opens.
Walk with friends
Add friends by username and watch them walk on your trail, with their steps over their heads. Race to the finish, or send a cream pie their way.
Always at a glance
Widgets, a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and Siri show today's steps and the next landmark without opening the app.
Private by design
Your steps and health details stay on your iPhone. There are no ads, analytics or tracking, and friends see only your steps today, your score and your character. Read the privacy policy.
Free to walk, with coins if you want them
Everything in the shop can be earned by walking.
Free
Step counting, the journey, the towns, friends, the daily mystery box and every coin you earn by walking, with no ads.

Common questions
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. PepStep counts steps with your iPhone, on iOS 26 or later. If you wear an Apple Watch, its steps count too, through Apple Health.
Will my steps match Apple Health?
Yes. PepStep reads your steps from Apple Health, so the count on Home is the one in the Health app, with iPhone and Apple Watch steps counted once.
Do I need to keep the app open?
No. Walk as usual: your character catches up with every step when you open PepStep, and widgets and reminders keep up in the meantime.
Is PepStep free?
Yes. There are no ads, and everything in the shop can be bought with coins you earn by walking. Coin bundles are optional.
Can I walk with my friends?
Yes. Add friends by username or send an invite, and they'll walk on your trail with their steps over their heads. Friends are optional and off until you turn them on.
Is my health data private?
Yes. Your steps and health details stay on your iPhone and are never sent to me. Friends see only your steps today, your score and your character.
